Good golly did the lead make a splash this past weekend, for none of us ever expected to duel with Santa while knee deep in a bog, but the weather certainly made this experience happen. Twelve brave souls walked in to shoot with us and I'm proud to say everyone survived and made that wet steel ring regret for ever showing its face on our range. First, I want to thank Chicken Scratch, Midwest Hale, Johnny Peacemaker, and Johnny's Darlin for showing up on Saturday to help put this speed match together during the storm. I also want to thank everyone for helping tear down the stages and working hard while we shot. Not many dared to attempt our muddy mayhem, but the twelve that showed up worked hard to make us all have a great shoot! Thank you to everyone! With all those blazing fast stages, I wasn't sure anyone would survive to the end with a clean match, but low and behold Willy Whiskers and El Q Jones did so beautifully! Congrats, you guys. I also want to recognize our top two shooters, Little Dead Drewster got top male shooter and Midwest Hale shot herself to top gun overall. Awesome job, you guys! With all that mud flying and how wet the bays were, we all know why Wabash Valley Slim stayed away, but Midwest Hale made sure to take his place and have herself a good slip-and-fall during one of her stages. I still don't know how she picked herself up to finish that stage in 21 seconds. I don't think anyone was arguing with her "W" on Sunday. She worked hard for it. I'll be posting that video on Facebook and Action Shooting Network in the next few days for our collective entertainment, so stay tuned. Next month we will have our normal bays back and be graced by a match written by Johnny Peacemaker and Baby Girl. They've been a little secretive about what they're cooking up, but I am confident it'll be a rootin' tootin' good time!
