I was amused to find that this beautiful Winchester 1873 lever-action repeating rifle is available to use in the virtual reality game "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond" which is set during World War II. From a gameplay perspective, it is actually very effective and fun to use... albeit a bit unrealistic, especially compared to the other firearm mechanics in the game which try to remain relatively plausible. Never mind the single-handed "John Wayne" twirl to recock despite the regular-sized lever loop... I'm also not aware of any human who can reload through the loading gate that fast AND with only one (or no) hand!

This footage is from the "Belle du Coin" scene in Mission 1 during the single player campaign, streaming via Virtual Desktop to an Oculus Quest 2. The game is being run through Steam at 80% supersampling to give my aging Intel i5-4690K and NVIDIA GTX 1080 the best chance at rendering everything while still maintaining acceptable framerate and visual fidelity.

VR is so much fun and immersive. I have a hard time playing on a flat screen anymore. Wish someone would port World Of Warcraft to VR.
