I am going to start by thanking the pards that put together a well-organized and fun event. Buck D. Law, Barkeep Casey, Iron Head Smith, Drake Robey, Branchwater Jack, Greywolf Tate, Toolman and Reno Mustang. I didn’t see any of these guys stop while on the range or at the awards. Here is a link to the shooter book if you want to check it out. Range Wars Episode V The Rustlers Strike Back The stories and starting lines were fun. Outstanding job you guys and I personal cannot wait for episode VI....

This spotlight and the next are going to focus on fairly new shooters. Midwest Hale has been at it for about 3 years now and has come a long way rather quickly. Go to We The People Munnitions and use the code Hale5 for 5% off your order. I'm sure her sponsors would appreciate that. Lets dive in and see what she had to say. Where do you live? (what state or country) Florida ...

With the world in a mess right now and everyone “Social Distanced” I thought why not talk about how A dark Day on the Santa Fe was a great match. Confederate Colt, Jane Deere, Yadkin, Rocky Creek and the rest of the team up there did an outstanding job. The stages were clean and fast and had challenges for everyone. Hats off y’all, keep up the excellent work. This year I decided to shoot Dark Day and seeing Madame Moog won cap and ball pistols at EoT last year. I though why not. Let me tell y...

So far in the month of August, Chickie and I have shot three matches.  Each one had the same overall lesson. "Shoot the stage in front of me."  Bucky Buckskin, Arcadia Outlaw, Christian Mortician, Shelleen, Cypress Sam, Fireball, Delta Glen, and Santa Fe River Stan have all said something similar to me at least once this month.  You’d think I would have learned my lesson in less than 16 stages, but I did not.     ...

Thursday afternoon Madame Moog and I set out to meet up with the cracker crew and shoot the Georgia State Match. I tell Y’All Eddie and the boys up there sure do put on a great match. If you haven’t been you should put it on your list. Thank you Fast Eddie, Krazy Kajun, Blackhawk Henry and the set up crew for all of your hard work to make this match a success. Also, thank you to all the workin cowboys that picked brass, ran the timer, spotted, set steel or any of the other posse jobs. It really ...

I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make EOT 2019 a great match and a better time. Deuce Stevens and Lassiter made some challenging stages worthy of a world championship. If you ask Deuce he’ll tell you that he couldn’t have done it with  out Cowboy Carty and the army of others that came together to make it happen. Misty Moonshine and the SASS Staff ran a well oiled machine with all the fixins, opening ceremony, dinner and shootout announce...

This blog was inspired by a question I received from Camo Cowboy on Action Shooting Network.  “Question for you? Is there info on the types of stages? I am wanting to practice and being new my only set back is learning the stages and how to shoot them. Working on transitions like you show and smoothness. Practicing in garage with fake stands and tables set up.” https://actionshootingnetwork.com/TheOTJ/?comment-id=277 ...

What can I say about 2019? I “shot” more than a few matches. Ides of March, Fl state, GA state, EOT, SC State and S.E regional, as well as too many monthlies to name. I met new people, made new friends and strengthened bonds with old friends. I look forward to the time we will spend together in 2020.   My shooting wasn’t very competitive this year. I was not able to close the deal at any state match. I place 2-5 in my category a couple times, but no 1st. I did win a couple over all monthli...
