So far in the month of August, Chickie and I have shot three matches.  Each one had the same overall lesson. I recently came across this brilliant song about cowboy action shooting. What a good match. The Ft White Cowboy Calvary club had their annual match this past weekend and let me tell you that it was a really good match. Rocky Creek Shooter and the crew up there did an outstanding job on the whole shooting match. In my opinion the props killed it. Painted nice and a bunch of’em. As we peruse the other SASS Facebook Groups we are very glad to see many new people interested in joining SASS. But we see a similar theme time and again from these potential shooters. They want to wait to attend a match until they are fully geared up and outfitted. This is the first mistake too many new shooters make when joining our great sport. Ok you knew it was coming, this past weekend Madame Moog and I shot in the New Jersey State match. Jesemay Kid, Dancin Angel and the crew up there at The Jackson Hole Gang did a great job with the match. The props were nice and the stages were fast but still made you think. What can I say about 2019? I “shot” more than a few matches. Ides of March, Fl state, GA state, EOT, SC State and S.E regional, as well as too many monthlies to name. I met new people, made new friends and strengthened bonds with old friends. I look forward to the time we will spend together in 2020.   My shooting wasn’t very competitive this year.
